Cue Loader Support
Effective October 14, 2026.
I'm Nathan. I built Cue, and I answer support myself.
Email: support@shootwithcue.com
Tell me your phone model, your camera, your memory card reader and the app version (Settings shows it). A screenshot helps. I read every email and will reply as soon as I can.
What you need
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later, or an Android phone that can install Cue from Google Play. Google Play only offers Cue on phones it supports.
A memory card reader that works with your phone. A small reader made for phones is more likely to work. If your iPhone has a Lightning port, use a reader with a Lightning plug built in. In my testing, a USB-C reader on a Lightning-to-USB-C adapter doesn't work.
A camera that saves JPEGs to a removable memory card and can play them back.
A memory card that holds 5 or fewer photos when you load.
A Setup Photo: one JPEG from each new camera, taken once during setup.
An Anchor Photo: a fresh shot each time you load, so Cue knows where your camera is writing.
Test before a paid shoot
Load your Cue Cards at home first and check them in your camera's Playback. Cameras differ. Don't let a wedding be the first time you try Cue with a new camera, reader or memory card.
Will Cue work with my camera?
Cue works with most cameras that save and play back JPEGs. The compatibility list (shootwithcue.com/cue-app-compatibility) shows cameras known to work. If your camera works and isn't listed, tell me with the form at the bottom of that page.
Cue won't write to my memory card
Cue only writes to a memory card that holds 5 or fewer photos. That's a safeguard: Cue never deletes or overwrites your photos, and a nearly empty memory card keeps the risk small.
Try these first:
Back up your photos and videos.
Move them off the memory card, or use another memory card that's nearly empty.
Put the memory card back in your camera, take a new Anchor Photo, and try again.
Formatting the memory card in your camera also works, but it's your call. Formatting erases everything on the memory card. Back up and check every file you need before you format. Cue never formats memory cards.
My Cue Cards don't show up in Playback
Check the slot. If your camera has two slots, use the memory card that saves JPEGs.
Check the folder. Cue writes to its own folder, numbered behind your camera's current folder. Some cameras only show the current folder in Playback. Look for a folder option in the Playback menu.
Thumbnails vary by camera. Some show the full thumbnail, some only a color, and some a blank. Open the Cue Card in Playback to see it full size.
Still nothing? Email me the camera model and a photo of the Playback screen.
My phone doesn't see the reader
Unplug the reader and plug it back in with the memory card already inside.
Try another memory card. Some readers don't work with every card type.
iPhone: open the Files app. If the memory card doesn't show there, Cue can't see it either.
Android: when Cue asks for a folder, pick the memory card itself, not your phone's storage.
Cue says it couldn't get a photo
If the photo lives in iCloud or another cloud library, your phone has to download it first. Connect to the internet and try again, or pick a different photo. Cue can't use RAW files; save a JPEG copy and pick that.
Free Cue Cards
Your Contact Card is free, always. You can also make up to 8 Cue Cards in one category for free. They lock after their first load. Buy Cue once to make as many Cue Cards and categories as you like.
Buying, restoring and refunds
Cue is a one-time purchase. There's no subscription and no account.
Restore on iPhone: open Settings → Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
Restore on Android: there's no button to tap. Open Cue while signed in to the same Google account you bought with, and your purchase comes back on its own. If it doesn't, check that you're signed in to the right account in the Play Store, then reopen Cue.
Refund on iPhone: Apple handles App Store refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Refund on Android: Google Play handles refunds. Open Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history, choose Cue, and request a refund. If Google sends you to me, email me.
What deleting things does
Deleting a Cue Card in Cue deletes Cue's copy of that photo. Your photo library is never touched.
Deleting the app removes your categories, Cue Cards and Cue's photo copies from your phone.
Cue Cards already on a memory card stay there until you delete them in your camera or format the memory card.
Your purchase stays with your Apple Account or Google account. After you reinstall, tap Restore purchases on iPhone. On Android, it comes back on its own.
Privacy
Cue has no account and no ads, and it doesn't track you. Crash reports are off unless you turn them on. Read the privacy policy (shootwithcue.com/privacy) and the app terms (shootwithcue.com/app-terms).
