Cue Loader App Terms

Effective October 14, 2026.

Cue Loader is made by Sottung Labs, LLC, doing business as Shoot With Cue ("Shoot With Cue", "I"). support@shootwithcue.com.

These terms cover the Cue Loader app on iPhone and Android. The Limited Liability, License & Terms of Use (shootwithcue.com/terms-of-use) covers the website and pose files, not the app.

1. Which agreement applies

iPhone and iPad: Apple's Standard License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) is your license for Cue. The rest of this page explains how Cue works and what I promise. If anything here conflicts with Apple's agreement, Apple's agreement wins.

Android: this page is your license for Cue, together with the Google Play Terms of Service. If they conflict, Google Play's terms win.

2. Your license (Android)

You may install and use Cue on Android devices you own or control, under your Google account. Use it for personal work or paid work, including client shoots. You may not sell, rent or share copies of the app, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

3. What Cue does and doesn't do

Cue writes JPEG files you make in the app onto a memory card you choose, so your camera can show them in Playback.

Cue writes only to a memory card that holds 5 or fewer photos, in its own folder.

Cue never deletes or overwrites your photos, on the memory card or in your phone's photo library, and never formats a memory card.

Cue doesn't change your camera's settings or clock.

Cameras, readers and memory cards vary. Some cameras may not show Cue Cards, or may show them without thumbnails. Camera makers can change firmware at any time, and an update may change how your camera handles Cue Cards.

4. Your part

Test Cue with your camera, reader and memory card before you rely on it at a paid shoot.

On paid work, I strongly recommend a dual-slot camera with both memory cards recording RAW.

Back up your photos and videos before you load. You are always responsible for backing up your working files.

Only load images you have the right to use. You keep all rights to your images.

5. Purchases

Cue is free to try: your Contact Card plus up to 8 Cue Cards in one category. A one-time purchase unlocks the rest. Apple or Google takes payment, and your purchase stays with that Apple Account or Google account. Refunds go through Apple or Google under their rules; see Support (shootwithcue.com/support).

6. No warranty, and limits on liability

Cue is provided as is. I work hard to make it safe and reliable, but I can't promise it will work with every camera or memory card, or never fail.

To the extent the law allows, Shoot With Cue is not liable for lost or damaged photos or files, missed shots, lost income, or other indirect losses from using Cue. My total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid for Cue or US$50.

Some places don't allow these limits. Where they don't, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing here takes away rights you have by law.

7. Brands

Camera and phone brand names belong to their owners. Shoot With Cue is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

8. Changes

If I change these terms, I'll post the new version here with a new date. Changes apply to versions of Cue released after that date.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
